The world-renowned Lord’s Cricket Ground in St. John’s Wood, London has been undergoing redevelopment since 2019. Part of the redevelopment plan is The Compton & Edrich Stands, constructing two new three-tier stands.
The team at Ralspeed were tasked with providing the panels to supply the stand’s new heating arrangement. The new control panel was tasked with operating two existing pumps in a nearby bore hole and supply water at a constantly maintained pressure to enable the stand’s new heating system to function efficiently.
Pumps were 22Kw each and the Vacon 100 Flow drive from Danfoss was utilised to perform this task. Various borehole, temperature and pressure signals were connected to the drives and not only used to control the system, but also transmit this data back to the stand’s BMS network.
The company responsible for the BMS requested using Bacnet I/P fieldbus protcol; which was not an issue as it comes built-in as standard to the Vacon 100 Flow Drive.
