In the height of the UK Summer drought in 2018, Ralspeed were approached by a third-party service provider requesting an immediate onsite repair for their large water utility customer.
The company had suffered a failed 400kw soft start, which had stopped the transfer of water between reservoirs; during this time urgency was key in ensuring all parts of the UK would not be without water during the nationwide drought. Following an initial on-site assessment, Ralspeed provided a proposal of how their 400kw Torqmaster soft start could be integrated in the existing panel enclosure and electrical control circuit with ease.
Sign off on the project was immediate and the 400kw soft start was manufactured in-house and ready to be delivered to site within 48 hours.
The Ralspeed technical team reworked the existing control panel to retrofit and commission the new soft starter all within the required 3-day window.
