Variable Speed Drive

What is a Variable Speed Drive?

A variable speed drive (VSD), also known as a variable frequency drive (VFD), is a device that is used to control the speed of an electrical motor. A fixed speed is not always suitable for all processes in a circumstance; creating the need to adjust the speed accordingly.

When should I be using a variable frequency drive?

Using a variable frequency drive to control the speed of electrical motors has many benefits:

  • Reduce energy consumption and costs
  • Extend equipment life and reduce maintenance
  • Increase production

Our variable speed drives range from the small, yet efficient Vacon 10 Compact drive to the larger NXP Range. Our skilled and qualified team will be able to answer any questions you may have and provide you with the correct varaiable speed drive you require.
